As a nonprofit organization, AMAL is a Foundation, founded by Esrat Karim Eve; a social reformer, in Bangladesh which works with underprivileged communities to support their basic needs and work towards helping communities become empowered, Also people trust us to use their funds to advance conservation. To safeguard this critical trust, AMAL is committed to best practices in governance, accountability and transparency. This commitment exists at all levels of the organization.

Esrat Karim
Founder and Director

Esrat Karim Eve is the Founder and Director of AMAL Foundation. She dreams of a world where everyone has free access to education and a better life. She is working to empower street children out of poverty by leveraging education. Her school and college was in Bogra, a small city. Though a small-town girl, she began to dream big.

She completed her graduation from University of Dhaka with major in Finance and completed her Masters from University of Colorado, USA. After doing her Masters, she came back to Bangladesh and founded AMAL Foundation, a non-profit organization which focuses on four issues- Education, Health, Empowerment and Emergency crisis.

She is one the young social entrepreneurs who got recognized by Youth Icon 2018, YSSE Social Impact Award, GITA Global Award, Jolkona Catalyst Fellowship- A USA embassy exchanging programmer based in Seattle, SPARK* International and as a Watson University Scholar. Her areas of interest include gender equity and equality, children rights, refugee rights, social business and youth leadership.

She loves to travel alone, read books and meditate. Her goal is to make Bangladesh a healthy and happy place for all the underprivileged children and woman.

Jahidul Islam
Project manager

 

 As a student of Media and Journalism, My passion was photography. I have seen the distress of people through out my lens while I was working a a volunteer. Is it possible to resist what I have seen and do nothing ? I chose to be a part of AMAL as I call myself “Human”

 

Jahidul Islam supports the execution of AMAL’s projects as planning manager.  He take cares local communities communications and project implementations and planning . He Support the projects for the rural area of BANGLADESH. He joined AMAL in January 2015. Jahidul is an energetic and passionate humanitarian. He is also a talented photographer. Jahidul holds an BSS (Media Studies and Journalism) in University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh.

Sohaeb Ratib
Project Manager

 I have decided to paint my life with the color of hope and AMAL gave me that hope.

 

Ratib oversees the execution of AMAL’s projects as a project manager. He deals with our local community communications and manage projects direct on field. support the work of all the employees in the rural area of BANGLADESH. He joined AMAL in January 2015. Ratib is an enthusiastic human being and passionate about humanitarian works. In his youth he has contributed in many voluntary works which helped him to work professionally on ground. Ratib holds BBA in University of Development Alternative.

Nahida Shabnam Urmi
Communication Manager

I call myself a human. I always desire to call myself a humanitarian. It is not about the identity it is about the passion.

 

Nahida takes care of AMAL’s communication and public relations. Her expertise is communication. She also look after our social media and write ups along with supporting the content writings for AMAL. She has joined AMAL in April 2019. Prior to joining AMAL, Nahida served in a leadership roles in World Academy for the Future of Women as a Student Director. She has also some voluntary experience of organsing events. She has been a future writer for online news papers. Nahida holds BA in English and Humanities from University of Liberal Art Bangladesh and holds an academic passport of global leadership program by WAFW.
