“Women’s Reproductive Health Education”: Breaking the Taboo

In order to advance gender equality, lower the rate of avoidable diseases and deaths, and improve the health and well-being of women and their families, comprehensive reproductive health education is essential. Regrettably, a lot of underprivileged and marginalized women in Bangladesh are reluctant to pursue such important knowledge, which results in a number of problems with reproductive health.

Amal Foundation and LETS collaborated to provide a workshop aimed at providing vital reproductive health knowledge to empower people, especially women and men living in rural Bangladesh. Director of the AMAL Foundation Esrat Karim Eve and Becky Holderness, Tilton Operations Head of LETS, led the workshop. The meeting took place in Bogura Sadar at the Amal’s Women Empowerment Center.

The session provided individuals, specifically the 30 trainees of Amal’s women skill centre in Bogura, the essential reproductive health education that would enable them to take charge of their reproductive health.
