Overview: Education is the premise of progress for every society and every family. It is essential for every child to be educated so that they can enlarge their knowledge around the world. It will give them the opportunity to create a better future for themselves, their families and the country as a whole. We believe these children are the future of our country and they must stay updated with the current affairs. They are the pillars of the nation and their future must be safe and secure in order to develop our country and this can only be done when they have access to proper education. Proper education will allow these children to build a stronger, safer and better nation with their knowledge and experiences. We should inculcate the past generation’s values and carry them with huge current innovations. It will help us to break the social evils like racism, crime, corruption, unemployment, discrimination and of course poverty. It will help us to grow in every aspect, both as individuals and as a nation as it opens us minds and helps develop logical thinking within human beings.
Why it matters: Bangladesh spends around 2.5% of our GDP on education, this is the second lowest level of spending in South Asia, and lower than most countries at similar levels of development. It is 11.4 percent of the total outplay. In Bangladesh – and around the world – children have no control of their future. Their opportunity to succeed personally, academically and professionally is limited by the socio-economic conditions of their families. Ten million children in Bangladesh are denied high-quality education as a result of an inequitable system. These children, no matter how much talent or how much potential they possess, have no platform or way to show it. The very “fortunate” among them are sent to school and are allowed primary education but never get a chance to proceed. The rest are not evem offered that. They end up growing up to be a victim of child labor and even worse, make crime their only option to earn a living. These things become the only methods of survival for them and eventually results into greater crime rates and more social evils. Apart from that, generation after generations suffer from lower income and unemployment because of their poor educational background.
What AMAL is doing: We envision a society in which all children receive proper education that empowers them to realize their full potential and shape their own future through their talent and hard work. We believe they can achieve anything and everything when they are given the right opportunities. We believe in their dreams and want to give them a platform to fulfil those. We work with the unprivileged children and give our best to provide them with quality education. So far, we have built a school in Shonpocha Char in Bogra called Ucchash school where more than 50 children are getting education to help them build a better life for themselves, their families and the community as a whole. We aim to build schools in every district of Bangladesh so that every child receives equal opportunity and gets a chance to make the best out of their future.
