Marginalized communities often struggle with limited access to resources and opportunities, which deepens systemic inequalities and restricts socio-economic growth. To address these challenges, Amal Foundation and Prerona Foundation launched a comprehensive initiative combining six life skills training sessions. This allowed community members to learn, contribute, and grow together.
The trainings were designed to meet diverse community needs:
- Basic Literacy for Adults: Helped adults with little formal education learn to write in Bangla and English, improve vocabulary, read books, and practice basic mathematics—empowering them in daily life.
- Agriculture & Livestock Training: Farmers were introduced to improved farming and animal husbandry techniques, boosting productivity and food security.
- Craft Training for Women: Women learned sewing, embroidery, block printing, and tie-dyeing. They produced garments, masks, and crafts, with opportunities to market products via Prerona Foundation’s e-commerce platform.
- Youth Development & Health Awareness: 15 young men and women were trained on community development, mental and physical health, and menstrual hygiene, building awareness and resilience.
- Financial Literacy & Fraud Awareness: In partnership with City Alo, participants gained knowledge of personal finance, household budgeting, and fraud prevention, helping them safeguard assets.
- Computer Literacy & Soft Skills: Youth were trained in computer basics, communication, critical thinking, and public speaking—preparing them for future education and career paths.

This multi-dimensional program not only built practical knowledge and employable skills but also fostered confidence, self-reliance, and active community participation. By empowering individuals across age and gender groups, the initiative strengthened both personal development and collective well-being, leaving a lasting impact on marginalized communities.
