Underprivileged senior citizens face profound challenges due to lack of familial support, leaving them vulnerable to isolation, neglect, and inadequate healthcare. This population struggles with loneliness, financial insecurity, and limited access to essential services, exacerbating their overall well-being. Addressing their needs requires comprehensive solutions to ensure dignified and supportive aging.
Amal Foundation introduced Project Jonaki, an elderly rehabilitation program where disadvantaged senior persons who have no one to care for them are taken care of and provided the basics like food, housing, and medicine, in collaboration with Aastha Trust.
Through this program 500 individuals received monthly housing and food aid from Amal in Dacurchak, Bogura district.
