Due to the geographical situation of Bangladesh, there are lots of people who are leading a miserable life because of insufficient funds, education, and skills. Among them, orphans are the most disadvantaged. From recent findings, it has been known that today, Bangladesh consists of over 4.8 million orphans. Their current residence is unsuitable for them due to inadequate housing and amenities.
To address this issue, Amal Foundation jointly with One Ummah Charity, UK launched a project called “Orphan Sponsorship 2023” which aims to help 300 orphan children who are in need. The project is being implemented in several areas including Dupchanchia, Adomdighi, Shonatola, Shariakandi, Bogura Sadar Upazila in Bogura district, and Boalamri Upazila in Faridpur district of Bnagladesh.
The main goal of the project is to ensure the well-being of the orphans, providing them with financial support for nutritious meals, access to medical care, and the opportunity to attend school. Running since 2023, the project has yielded numerous positive impacts. Emphasizing the provision of healthy meals to the children and their families, the program aims to support their growth and development. Education stands as a central pillar of the initiative, with support covering school fees, uniforms, books, and supplies, empowering the children to break the cycle of poverty and envision a brighter future. Additionally, the program ensures a safe living and learning environment for the children, alleviating concerns about food and health. With a focus on prioritizing their well-being in all aspects of life, the positive effects of the program are readily observable as the children receive the necessary support.
