Youth Skill Development through Vocational Training: Empowering Rural Youth

Duration : 10 Dec 2023 To 15 Dec 2023

Location: Amal Foundation

The Electric Training Center in Bogura, an initiative by Amal Foundation, is dedicated to empowering local youth through specialized vocational training. The program provides hands-on instruction in electric wiring, AC repair, and fridge repair, along with a strong foundation in the use of electrical equipment. This training equips participants with technical expertise that not only improves their employability but also prepares them for self-employment opportunities within their communities.

By offering practical skills, the initiative boosts confidence and creates pathways for additional income, enabling youth to support their families and contribute to the local economy. Designed to meet the demands of the labor market, the project works toward breaking cycles of poverty while fostering sustainable livelihoods in rural Bogura.

In 2024, the Center successfully completed three training batches, providing vocational training to 75 young individuals. These participants gained specialized skills aligned with community needs, positioning them to enter the workforce or establish their own repair services.

Beyond technical knowledge, the program plays a critical role in expanding local employment opportunities and driving long-term community development. By equipping young people with in-demand skills, it strengthens the overall economic resilience of the region.

The Electric Training Center has already proven its impact in 2024, reflecting the strong demand for vocational training and the potential of youth-led economic growth. Looking ahead, Amal Foundation aims to expand the program by diversifying training areas and reaching more rural youth, ensuring they have the tools to achieve economic independence and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
