In December 2024, Amal Foundation, in collaboration with NISA Global Foundation, launched a targeted initiative to strengthen the livelihoods of fisherwomen in Khulna, Bangladesh, which is a region heavily dependent on fishing and highly vulnerable to climate change. As part of this effort, 15 women engaged in fishing were provided with comprehensive fishing kits containing essential tools such as ropes, anchors, fish storage boxes, scissors, and torch lights.
These resources not only equip the women to work more safely and efficiently but also help reduce physical strain, improve productivity, and enhance the quality of their work. By enabling them to continue earning a stable and sustainable income, this small yet impactful intervention contributes to building economic resilience, promoting self-reliance, and empowering women in one of the country’s most at-risk coastal communities.
