In the remote riverine island of Char Shonpocha, Bogura, where poverty and isolation once kept education out of reach, Amal Foundation founded Ucchash School in 2017, turning dreams into reality for children in need. With a mission to provide underprivileged children access to quality primary education, the school enrolls 50 children (ages 6–8) each year, offering free education alongside school uniforms, stationery, nutritious meals, and regular health checkups. By addressing these fundamental needs, Ucchash ensures children can learn without financial burden.

Beyond academics, Ucchash is a sanctuary for growth and well-being. Students learn Bangla, English, and Mathematics while exploring creativity and teamwork through storytelling, games, and cultural celebrations. This fosters confidence, social skills, and emotional resilience. The school also prioritizes child safety, teaching personal safety and self-awareness, and promotes environmental responsibility through activities like tree plantation.

In June 2025, IPDC entered into a one-year collaboration, financing operational costs of the school. Meanwhile, the NISA Global Foundation has been supporting cognitive and physical development through a year-long program, “Nobokiron”, set to conclude in November. Additionally, Thrive ensures children receive regular healthy tiffin including milk, eggs, seasonal fruits, and dates, supporting their nutritional well-being.

Ucchash School stands as a living testament to the transformative power of education. What began as a response to the struggles of an overlooked community has become a center of empowerment, where children gain not only knowledge but also resilience, creativity, and hope. Today, Ucchash reflects Amal Foundation’s unwavering belief that with the right support, every child, no matter their background, can rise above circumstances to build a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their community.
