As temperatures drop across Bangladesh, countless vulnerable people, especially children, the elderly, and low-income families struggle to survive without basic protection from the cold. The risks of pneumonia, hypothermia, and other cold-related illnesses rise sharply for those without shelter or warm clothing.

Since 2015, Amal Foundation has been standing beside these communities through its Winter Care Initiative, ensuring no one faces winter’s harshness alone. Every year, the foundation distributes blankets, quilts, sweaters, mufflers, and warm clothing to families most in need, offering immediate warmth and comfort.
Beyond clothing, Amal also provides personal care packs with lotion, petroleum jelly, honey, and coconut oil. These are essentials that help protect against the dry winter air.
The project engages volunteers, donors, and local partners to identify families in need and distribute aid, creating a strong sense of community and solidarity.

Since its inception, the Winter Care Initiative has reached over 200,000 people across 18 districts, including Bogura, Naogaon, Sirajganj, Nilphamari, Jessore, Patuakhali, Gopalganj, Faridpur, Habiganj, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Cox’s Bazar, Rangpur, Comilla, Khulna, Sunamganj, Rajbari, Natore, and Chandpur.

The mission is simple yet powerful: no one should suffer from the cold. By providing essential winter supplies and care, Amal Foundation brings dignity, safety, and hope to thousands each year and remains committed to expanding its reach so that every vulnerable family in Bangladesh can face winter with warmth and protection.
