In Bangladesh’s rural and climate-vulnerable regions, extreme poverty is a persistent challenge, especially for women, who are disproportionately affected due to underrepresentation in the workforce and limited access to resources and opportunities. The impacts of climate change, combined with poor infrastructure and economic instability, further compound these issues, underscoring the urgent need for inclusive and sustainable interventions.

In response, Amal Foundation launched an initiative to economically empower 800 women participants by providing them with goats. Thus, creating a sustainable source of income through animal husbandry. This practical solution enables women to earn a livelihood, support their families, and gain financial independence in a region where traditional employment opportunities are scarce.Through this project, 800 women have been successfully empowered, demonstrating how simple, community-based solutions can play a critical role in poverty alleviation, women’s empowerment, and climate resilience in rural Bangladesh.
