Women Entrepreneurship Program: Empowering Women to Drive Economic Growth

Duration : 10 Dec 2023 To 15 Dec 2023

Location: Amal Foundation

n Bangladesh, pervasive harassment, domestic abuse, and deep-rooted societal stigmas continue to create significant barriers for women seeking to enter or thrive in the workforce. These challenges not only hinder individual progress but also limit the growth of women-led enterprises and perpetuate broader social and economic inequalities. The underrepresentation of women in entrepreneurial and professional spaces stalls national development and reinforces gender disparities. To build a truly inclusive and progressive economy, it is essential to dismantle these barriers and create pathways for women to lead, innovate, and succeed.

To address this gap, Amal Foundation, in collaboration with Lead Academy and a2i (Aspire to Innovate), launched the Women Entrepreneurship Program, an initiative dedicated to supporting women on their entrepreneurial journeys. The program focuses on facilitating access to resources and training, encouraging women’s active participation in economic activities, and empowering them to realize and harness their entrepreneurial potential.

Through mentorship, skills development, and strategic support, the initiative equips women with the tools they need to start and sustain their own businesses. As a result, more women are stepping into leadership roles, pursuing meaningful careers, and becoming job creators in their communities. The program’s anticipated outcomes include enhanced workforce diversity, a positive shift in societal norms, and an overall improvement in the economy driven by women’s increased involvement in business. By empowering women to pursue careers, explore their entrepreneurial potential, and create jobs, the initiative will have a broader impact on their families and communities, promoting socioeconomic development and gender equality.
